A note from Madeleine: “I have lived with cats my entire life and always wondered what they did at night while I was asleep.  I wrote this book to find out.  The cat in this book is based on two of my cats, Rusty and Sebastian. The “field work” for Cat in the Night took place in my own back yard in Oakland, CA.”
